March 2026- Bug fixes, Enhancements & Documentation Updates

Bug:

1) Better AI Assistant Error Messaging:

We improved Glific’s AI Assistant error handling by ensuring that when the internal Kaapi API returns an error, users now see a clear, readable message instead of a vague or technical error response.
This helps NGOs to quickly understand what went wrong and take corrective action, especially when running AI‑driven workflows.

This fix enhances reliability and makes debugging chatbot interactions more intuitive for users working with AI Assistants across their chatbot setups.

2) Clearer Google Sheets Sync Error Messages

Refined error handling for Google Sheet integrations so that user‑friendly error messages are shown when a sheet sync fails.
Previously, internal errors were not clearly communicated, making it hard to understand why an action failed.

Now, Glific formats and displays meaningful messages for sheet write failures, helping NGOs diagnose and fix issues faster.

3) Picker Layout in Flow Builder

We fixed a UI layout issue in the WhatsApp Flow JSON builder where the CalendarPicker and DocumentPicker components were not displaying correctly.

This correction improves visual alignment and usability when selecting dates and documents within flows, making the flow‑building experience smoother for users.

Enhancement:

1) Google Sheets API Reads Using Service Account Credentials

Optimized how Glific interacts with Google Sheets by implementing API reads using Service Account credentials.

This not only makes sheet access more reliable but also allows NGOs to keep their sheets private, ensuring data privacy without having to make the sheet publicly accessible.

A detailed documentation has been added here please do take a look at it.

2) AI Assistant Model Options

We have strengthened the AI Assistant creation UI by limiting the model options to only those officially supported by Glific, instead of displaying all available OpenAI models.

This ensures users see reliable and consistent options, reducing confusion and preventing the selection of unsupported models.

3) Gupshup Setup Fix

Recently, Gupshup updated their API which broke the gupshup setup in Glific, so for new NGOs/accounts we have implemented a fix.

NGOs can now obtain the updated API and enable it on their Glific instance seamlessly. For step-by-step instructions, please refer to the updated documentation to complete the setup without issues.

Documentation Update:

Revamped Documentation:

1) Webhook Error Code Reference

We noticed that NGOs often faced confusion while trying to understand webhook error codes and frequently reached out for clarification.

To make this easier, we’ve added a reference link to HTTP status codes, helping users quickly understand what each error means and how to act on it.

For a better understanding, do read this documentation.
