Bugs Fixed:

1) Improved error handling in flow editor:

Earlier, when publishing a flow, if there were any issues, the API would crash leading to a very bad UX.

To address this, we have made improvements to our API which would gracefully handle the errors without affecting the UX.

2) Template failure reasons from Gupshup now captured:

Previously, when template messages failed via Gupshup, the failure reason wasn’t always recorded in the database. As a result, users couldn’t see why a template failed in the Glific UI.

Additionally, we weren’t generating notifications for failed templates, even though we already notify approved and rejected ones.

We have now addressed these issues by:

  • Ensuring failure reasons from Gupshup are stored and visible in the UI
  • Added notifications for failed templates to keep users better informed

3) Improved handling of missing gid in Google sheet URLs:

Earlier, when users created a sheet without including the gid (the unique identifier for a specific sheet tab) in the URL, Glific defaulted to using gid=0 while exporting the CSV file.

However, if the actual sheet doesn’t have a tab with gid=0, the export URL returns an HTML error page instead of a CSV, which leads to decoding issues in the flow.

We have now improved how we handle such cases to prevent these silent failures and ensure smoother CSV exports.

4) Close Button on Google Sheet Error Popup

We noticed that the close button on the Google Sheet error popup wasn’t functioning as expected  clicking it did not dismiss the popup.

This has now been fixed.Users can now properly close the popup when an error occurs while working with Google Sheets, ensuring a smoother experience.

New Feature/Enhancements Done:

1) Interactive Messages: Handling Re-Responses Seamlessly

Previously, if a user clicked on an old or previous  interactive message again, it wouldn’t trigger any response – sometimes leading to confusion. This typically happened when:

  • The user accidentally selected the wrong option
  • They were curious to explore other choices

To improve this, Glific now supports repeated clicks on the same interactive message. When a user clicks again, the flow will jump to the correct node based on the option selected, making the interaction smoother and more intuitive.
If you wish to enable this feature please do raise a support query on Discord.

2) Profile view enhancements: Identify default and active profiles easily

To improve clarity in the contact profile section, we have made it easier for users to distinguish between default and other profiles, and also identify the active profile at a glance.

Updates include:

  • A visual cue next to the default profile in the profile listing view
  • A cue next to the active profile, helping users quickly see which one is currently in use
  • These indicators appear left next to the profile names, making profile management more intuitive.

UI Improvements for Better Navigation and Clarity:

  • Renaming for Clarity:
The term WhatsApp in the Send Contact a Message node has been updated to HSM Template to avoid confusion, as NGOs commonly use the term HSM template.
  • Easier Node Navigation:

Users often struggle to return to the main view from sub-tabs like Attachments or WhatsApp within certain nodes. We have added a clear Home tab to improve navigation. This update applies to nodes like:
    • Send Contact a Message
    • Call a Webhook
    • Send Message to Staff and more
  • Improved Defaults in Wait for Response:

When a Wait for Response node is auto-created from an Interactive Message, the default condition is now set to Has only a phrase for consistency and ease of use.
