Bugs Fixed:

1) Removing Citations from OpenAI Responses:

Many of our NGOs and internal team members faced issues with the remove citation feature, as it wasn’t functioning consistently.

To resolve this, we implemented backend fixes, including updating the regex to improve citation removal.

2) Language preference changing to english when updating contacts to new collections: Raised by 1 NGO TAP

When using the Move Contacts feature under Manage → Contacts → Move Contacts, which allows adding or removing existing contacts from a collection, the language preference of users is automatically updating to “English.”

To resolve this, we implemented backend fixes to ensure that the preferred language of existing users remains unchanged when moving contacts to a new collection.

3) Registration Update: Increased Character Limit for Organization Name Field in Glific Onboarding Form:

Initially, the Glific Onboarding Form had a 40-character limit for entering the registered organisation name. Some newly onboarded NGOs reported that this restriction prevented them from entering their full legal name as per official documents.

To address this and ensure we capture the complete legal name in our backend, we increased the character limit from 40 to 250. Here is the documentation with complete details.

New Feature Added/ Enhancement done:

1) WhatApp Group Polls:

We launched the WhatsApp Group Polls feature in Glific as part of a consulting project for Arogya World.
This feature allows NGOs to create and send polls to WhatsApp groups, making it easier to collect responses directly from group members. The collected data is stored in BigQuery, where it can be used for analysis. You can find the complete details in this documentation.

2) Enhanced HSM Templates: Added Support for Rich Text Editor:

We have introduced a Rich Text Editor in the HSM Template Creation page, allowing users to format their messages easily. This enhancement enables better text styling, structuring, and readability, ensuring that messages are more engaging and visually clear.

3) Added by default  ‘Has the phrase’ to ‘Has only the phrase’ in Wait for Response:

We have updated the default validation in the “Wait for Response” node from “Has the phrase” to “Has only the phrase” to help prevent miscommunication in flows. NGOs can still manually adjust the validation settings based on their specific needs.

4) Bhashini : Added Odia Language & Improved Voice Clarity with Higher Sampling Rate:

We worked on the enhancements on adding Odia support in Bhashini TextToSpeech and also improved the quality of generated audios by increasing the sampling rate to 16k.

Documentation update:

Existing Documentation Revamped:

1) Dynamic Variables in Interactive Messages using G-Sheets:

You may already know that G-Sheets can be used to send interactive messages.
While we had documentation on this before, some of our NGOs requested a more detailed breakdown with simpler explanation on steps. So, we have now updated it. Please give it a read here!

2) Filesearch Using OpenAI Assistants:

The documentation was originally named RAG Filesearch, which caused some confusion among our NGOs. To make it clearer, we updated the name and also replaced the images to make the content more descriptive. Please do give it a read.
